The Adventure Called Life Day 362...lessons learning...

I say "lessons learning" because if I say, "lesson learned" that would imply I know everything there is to know about leading a congregation in worship. Wellspring has taught me A LOT about how to engage a variety of audiences in worshiping the Lord. This morning I taught the congregation the chorus of the song before we sang the song, that way they had something to look forward to through the new verses. They had never sung the song before. I wanted to introduce the joyfulness of "Sing to the King" to them. So, starting off with a little "repeat after me" we were off. I believe that God was glorified by our song. Amen!

The Adventure Called Life Day 361...sabbath...

In spiritual formation, we have been discussing life planning. We have each come up with two life style changes we want to make. They are disciplines discussed in Mudhouse Sabbath. I have chosen to take a Sabbath from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday. The only requirement is that I must not do anything academic. This is extremely difficult. but I am getting better. Its amazing that since im sick, the sabbath continued into sunday as well :)

The Adventure Called LIfe Day 360...another week in the books...

well im whipped, wiped, worn out, torn up, totally annihilated. welcome to the weekend! Tonight starts my Sabbath of NO ACADEMICS. such a hard thing to do, especially when I enjoy my classes. I know, I know, totally an oxymoron, but I do enjoy them. immensely. Contemporary worship ensemble is shaping up to be extremely different, epic and just plain totally awesome.

The Drama department is hosting a conference this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing some performances. I love theatre. and words. and story. and words. a lot. I might just work on my story this evening. Its time I took another trip to Stone Ridge.

The Adventure Called Life Day 347...lead me to the cross...

Today Zachariah and I started our adventure as worship leaders for Minges Hills Church of God in Battle Creek. We did an Offertory, "Lead me to the Cross" by Brooke Fraiser. Awesome song, the lyrics are really impacting.

Then we returned to school and we snuggled in his popasan chair for the afternoon open hours. I then went home and got dinner, and we met for Arbor Games. Then I went back over to Ormston for a bit before returning to my floor. I love living on campus, I mostly love the people, and just being able to sit down and connect with someone just because. I love spring arbor. and I love Zachariah. He's my FAVORITE!

The Lord has been so good to me throughout these last couple of weeks. He has kept me strong, and also provided support for me through my fellow RA staff, my floormates, friends, family and now the newest edition to my life, Zachariah. I know some of you may get sick of how much I mention him, but I am so thankful for his love and support of me. He is interested in seeing God get bigger in my life and also in his life. what more could a girl ask for?

The Adventure Called Life Day 346...singing in the rain...

Today I woke up at 10:30 am, but I stayed in bed and read for awhile until getting up, doing some Zumba :) then hitting the shower. Zachariah called after that for me to join him on a Jackson run. He needed to go to the bank for laundry quarters, and I just love to spend time with him, so I went along...he surprised me with a stop by Starbucks and he bought me coffee. He is the best. Then we went to Playford and he got a couple of 1/4" cables and some guitar picks. We returned to campus and went our separate ways. I finally got a bowl of oatmeal in my system, then we met for dinner because his sister Ariel was here to see the concert. The whole day it POURED. off and on, but it mostly just RAINED the entire day. Needless to say we did have to run, jump and sing our way through the rain. It was awesome. I hope I am not going to get sick!!
